Let Me Introduce Myself
Hello, my name is Andy Christopherson, MSW. I am a social worker and a school counselor. I work with children and adolescents aged 11 and older. I am passionate about two main principles in therapy: (1) Helping my clients process their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. (2) Building useful skills to manage the complex needs every growing child faces. This is an age where young people are trying on many different hats to discover who they are and what they are about! I provide a laid-back and nonjudgmental space where we work together to meet the goals you have for therapy.

My Journey To Becoming A Therapist
Like so many, I have experienced what it is like to feel the debilitating impact of anxiety and depression. It was not until I sought out therapy that I realized how powerful and healing it can be to share my story. Having the opportunity to share what was going on in my head was liberating. I had my thoughts and emotions validated, I was able to let go of my worries, and learned valuable ways to cope with those debilitating thoughts. Ultimately, my goal is to help empower you to overcome your struggle or help you take that leap of faith towards that big decision. As a team, we can make that happen!

What You Can Expect
I provide an atmosphere that makes looking inward easier. Working with me allows you to communicate what’s difficult while also building an optimistic sense of self. I specialize in an approach that focuses on exploring strategies and building foundational skills to help you overcome a problem. But don’t you worry! It won’t always be so serious because I love employing lighthearted humor in the process. You will often hear me say, “boom shake the room” or “woop woop” when we make progress that is meaningful to you!
We all have a need for healthy relationships to lean on. I am always honored to be a sturdy, trusted, and knowledgeable relationship for the youth that I work with! I feel so privileged to join you in your journey, and I look forward to working with you.
