<image:title>Tyler Seabolt - “Life can be hard, but we can always find something to laugh about.”</image:title>
<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I’m human. I’ve been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help. Before I settled into being a therapist, I spent my teens, 20s, and 30s being an ADHD’er, soccer player, artist, carpenter, pastor, salesman, volunteer, husband, father, divorcee, single-parent, husband, and father again… phew! And with all that I’m proud to say I love being a therapist who will find something we can genuinely laugh about every session!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Building Meaningful Connections Is What I Look Forward To Every Day Being a therapist is inspiring. My clients’ self-belief motivates me every day! I love witnessing people grab health, empowerment, connection and fulfillment for themselves. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, freer, and excited about their lives and relationships. I am committed to you experiencing healing and transformation. *Pictured is my proposal to my amazing wife - at a bridge of course!</image:caption>

I instill a thoughtful, compassionate, and joyful attitude into the process of therapy.</image:caption>

<image:title>Dae'Shanae Brock - “Life’s journey may be painful at times, but we can seek and discover your best self and relationships.”</image:title>
<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist From early childhood, I have had a heart for helping others. Most strongly, a compassion and empathy for people’s emotional well-being. Instead of judging others for their choices or behavior, I learned to view people through their life experiences. This has created a foundational principle for me as a therapist, “It’s not about what’s wrong with you, but more about what has happened to you!” I have dealt with various traumas throughout my childhood, including sexual trauma. That experience has changed my perspective in life in that I now see the value of experiencing both the positive and painful. I believe that embarking on the journey of self-discovery and improvement, is the greatest gift that you can give to yourself and to those you are closely connected.</image:caption>

<image:title>Dae'Shanae Brock - “The first steps towards something new can be overwhelming, but together we can walk confidently towards your goals.”</image:title>
<image:caption>What You Can Expect A professor of mine once told me that “you can never take a client to a place that you wouldn’t go yourself.” Through the process of therapy, I have learned, to take courageous steps in letting others in. Because of that, I feel privileged that others would take those same courageous steps with me! I believe this vulnerability is the key to true intimacy and growth in relationships, and with me, you can expect a safe space to take that journey.</image:caption>

I pride myself on creating a warm and energizing space where you feel seen, heard, valued, and empowered; a space for you to be you! We’ll explore many important areas such as your emotions, your strengths, and we will develop practical strategies for overcoming obstacles. Together, we will find greater balance and fulfillment in your life. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy, a unique approach that combines the benefits of therapy with the healing power of nature and movement. If walk-and-talk is something you are interested in, just ask! It can be good to change things up sometimes, but if that’s not your vibe – no biggie! So, are you ready to embark on a transformative journey towards a brighter future? Reach out, and let’s start this incredible adventure together. You deserve a life filled with joy, resilience, and meaningful connections. I can’t wait to meet you!</image:caption>

<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist I found my calling through a wealth of diverse experiences. I have worked in landscaping, spent a summer on a fruit farm in Northern California, unloaded food trucks for a restaurant at 4AM, milked cows, and earned a Master Barber license. Almost all of those experiences were devoted to finding my “calling,” but none of them were—at least not one of them alone was– the answer. Instead, I realized that whether I was landscaping, unloading a truck, picking fruit, or learning a new haircut, I was always giving my undivided attention and care to the feelings, stories, hopes, and deepest truths of the people around me. Now, as a therapist, that is the core of what I get to do!</image:caption>

<image:caption>What You Can Expect Because I know firsthand how vulnerable and difficult it can feel to seek therapy, I am committed to offering the utmost in care, warmth, and accountability. One of my first priorities as your therapist is to build a genuine relationship with you in which you feel welcomed, respected, and affirmed as the person you truly are. From there, we will work together to help you develop skills and insights that will lead to greater flexibility, creativity, confidence, self-mastery, and freedom. As a therapist and as a human, there is no greater satisfaction than seeing another person realize that they truly can chart their own course and live life with more connection, satisfaction, hope, and love. I am so excited for the chance to witness that in you!</image:caption>

Before this, I completed my bachelor's studies in social work at the University of Georgia. My primary goal is to create meaningful relationships with others and cultivate safe spaces for individuals who want help and self-improvement. I am committed to aiding both young people and adults in conquering challenges they face. I firmly believe in a therapy method that focuses on each person, prioritizing attentive listening and encouraging individuals to take charge of their own choices.</image:caption>

<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist I have always felt strongly about mental health. My personal experience with therapy has been a challenging one. I faced numerous uncomfortable situations during my sessions, yet I persevered. It was crucial for me to find a listener who would hear me without bias and show empathy. While therapy can feel intimidating, I have come to realize that it doesn't have to be that way. I believe that therapy is like a personal adventure where you can choose your own path. When life feels confusing and too much to handle, asking for help should feel like taking a brave step forward. Therapy offers a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings, helping you navigate through the challenges that come your way.</image:caption>

<image:title>Bailey Frederking Serrano - “The power of story is to heal and to sustain. And if we are brave enough to tell our own story, we realize we're not alone, again and again.” - Suleika Jaouad</image:title>
<image:caption>Let Me Introduce Myself Hi, I’m Bailey Frederking, a former Clarke County educator with a Master’s in English Education and a current graduate student and clinical intern pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, individuals navigating chronic illness, caregivers of youth with chronic illness, and women of all ages navigating grief and their healing journey. I am heavily passionate about individual and community mental health advocacy and empowerment, especially regarding supporting those living with a chronic illness, adolescent boys and young men battling mental health challenges and stigmas, and the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach to counseling is grounded in the therapeutic relationship, purposeful empathy, evidence-based practices, and a posture of curiosity and non-judgment. Theoretically, I align with a trauma-informed psychodynamic approach that emphasizes attachment theory and Internal Family Systems. At the heart of this theoretical approach is prioritizing a gentle process of learning more self-regulation tools, processing the past to move toward what is ahead, and ultimately stepping into healing in our relationship with ourselves and others. I am here to provide you with a relaxed and collaborative space for you to move towards more well-being in your life with the goals you have for therapy! Oh, and I love all things poetry and art—I am always happy to integrate creative work as a means of processing and healing into our time together in sessions! Soccer, sports, and yoga are also my jam; with that being said, I am passionate about integrating somatic work into the therapy room to respond to the body alongside the mind and spirit.</image:caption>

<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn toward people, stories, and authentic connections; it is what has drawn me toward teaching and now the field of counseling. In 2021, I was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease that flipped my world upside down. I had already been well-acquainted with grief and trauma, but chronic illness has a way of disrupting every aspect of life in a way that I had not yet experienced. Five months after my diagnosis, I had to step down from teaching, a job I loved a lot. My friends threw me a “grief” party so I could honor my time in the classroom, I went back to counseling, joined a support group, and began adapting to my new normal. Though I know I couldn’t continue to teach with the ebbs and flows of health needs, I knew I still needed to work alongside people in a relational manner connected to supporting, advocating, and empowering others through story and connection. So, I quickly returned to the classroom, just this time as a full-time student again, to pursue my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health—committed to integrating what I learned as a teacher into the counseling field. In his book Let Your Life Speak, Parker Palmer wrote, “Teaching, I was coming to understand, is my native way of being in the world… Teaching is at the heart of my vocation and will manifest itself in any role I play.” In that way, Parker Palmer and I are kindred spirits. My " classroom " walls look different now, but the heart of the work I engage in daily remains the same.</image:caption>

<image:title>Bailey Frederking Serrano - “Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.” - Mary Oliver</image:title>
<image:caption>What You Can Expect In sessions, you can expect me to be relationally responsive to you and your interests, needs, strengths, and goals for growth through trauma-informed approaches. The therapeutic environment is ours to co-create; you are the expert of you and I feel honored to be invited to come alongside individuals as they bravely step into healing and greater wellness. Therapy is hard and rich work; with that in mind, I want to do everything I can to ensure you feel comfortable, supported, and empowered. I believe heavily in holding room for the “both/and” of life. My approaches within sessions will reflect that. As humans, we are beautifully complex. When you walk into a session, you may be feeling joy, fear, anger, and grief all at the same time. It’s all welcome. I am committed to honoring all of who you are and all that you bring with you into each session. You are not too much nor not enough.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Let Me Introduce Myself Hi! I’m Julia Warren, M.Ed in Professional Counseling. I am a therapist who is passionate about working with individuals and couples to create insight into who they truly are and what makes them happiest. My work focuses on individuals and couples struggling with relationship issues, family conflict, life transitions, anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, stress, and self-esteem. While these struggles can certainly feel overwhelming, my hope is to create a space where you feel comfortable and safe exploring the emotions these struggles cause and working together to find solutions. I offer a warm, conversational, and genuine therapy experience. In my practice, I will meet you where you are and walk beside you through the therapeutic journey. I will take the time to listen to you and empower you to make choices that are most aligned with your authentic self.</image:caption>

<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist I, like many others, took to Google years ago to try to figure myself out. I wanted to know myself better and develop healthy relationships with those I cared most about. I listened to podcasts with Brené Brown, John & Julie Gottman, Esther Perel, and Adam Grant trying to learn as much as I could about how relationships work and how communication with ourselves, others, and our environment impacts us. Through this journey, I discovered my passion for learning about others and learning the best ways to implement change. I have struggled with anxiety and depression and know how difficult it can be to take the first step in reaching out to a counselor for help. Now, many years into my own therapy journey, I can confidently say I would not be who I am today without having taken that step toward healing. Knowing the importance therapy has had in my own life makes me that much more passionate about providing quality therapy to others.</image:caption>

The therapy process works with exploring your past and present, building insight around patterns, and then focusing on solutions to help you reach your goals. As a counselor, I am affirming of clients from a diverse background, including racial identities, ability status, socioeconomic status, sexual orientations, gender identity/expression, and religious orientation. I want you to feel welcome to bring any and all aspects of yourself into the therapeutic space. I offer telehealth and in-person counseling in the Athens area. <image:caption>Let Me Introduce Myself Hi there! I’m Samantha Barnhart, LMSW, and you can call me Sam. I’m a dedicated Social Worker driven by a passion for fostering community, creativity, and personal growth. Specializing in working with teens, young adults, and adults embracing their neurodivergence, I offer a strengths-based, person-centered approach, drawing from a variety of evidence-based practices. I have a background in serving community mental health and resource needs, as well as in crisis counseling. I have also worn more hats than I could count on both hands, and have spent a great deal of my time involved with music and art events. My hope is to bring more understanding and appreciation for the things about you that are divergent from what is “normal”.</image:caption>

<image:title>Samantha Barnhart - “Empathy is not relating to an experience, it’s connecting to what someone else is feeling about an experience” - Brene Brown</image:title>
<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist From an early age, I wanted to help others in some way. Guided by personal experiences and a deep empathy for those affected by trauma, I realized that I wanted to help others manage and grow from their experiences. That’s why I chose to pursue Social Work, and shortly thereafter found the word I center my practice around: empowerment. I am ever in the process of learning more about myself like we all are. As someone who has dealt with depression, anxiety, trauma, and most of my life feeling somehow different, it took a long time to invest myself into finding the right therapist after spending time with those I didn’t connect with. My experiences with therapy have since underscored the value of seeking support which embraces one's neurodivergence as a source of strength. This, I take into my practice with clients.</image:caption>

<image:title>Samantha Barnhart - “Let’s collaborate to create your best life!”</image:title>
<image:caption>What You Can Expect I provide a safe space to explore what’s on your mind, who you want to be, and how to get there. We will focus on your strengths while exploring what makes you, you! As we work through that, we can make positive changes through identifying areas where growth would be helpful, too. We can also draw upon the hidden “superpowers” that accompany neurodivergence in our collaborative process to find the best way to help you achieve your goals. A unique perspective I’m bringing to the table is an alternative definition for the word “flow”. The creative communities I’m in have different ways of expressing this concept, but it manifests as finding yourself immersed in your experiences, and finding those experiences rewarding. I would love to incorporate this concept to help bring more flow into your life. I take a trauma-informed approach to all of the work I do. I am a safe space for people in the LGBTQIA2S+ community and strive always to provide culturally sensitive care to my clients. I recognize being neurodivergent in a world set up for neurotypicals can be traumatizing in itself, not to mention everything else that happens in our lives! In our work together, your story, strengths, and goals will guide us on the right path toward your healing, growth, and self-understanding. Let’s get creative in discovering how your uniqueness can propel you further!</image:caption>

<image:title>Jessica Cox - “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.” — Aristotle</image:title>
<image:caption>Let Me Introduce Myself Hi, my name is Jessica Cox, APC. I am a therapist who focuses on adults, adolescents and children coping with difficult life challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression and grief. Having experienced tragic loss myself, it has driven me to want to help others deal with the challenges of grief and overcome hurdles that can present themselves while trying to cope with daily living. While in grad school I worked with at-risk youth and children with emotional behavioral disorders which gave me a better appreciation of just how important it is to have support at every stage of life. Our journey through this world can be difficult and I want to be there to help navigate all the up’s and down’s that life brings.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:title>Jessica Cox - "Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should, or need to do it alone." – Lisa Olivera</image:title>
<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist My passion for helping, listening and supporting those around me has always been an innate part of who I am. From my very first psychology class in my first year of college I instantly knew that I wanted to be in the mental health field. Understanding people and their behaviors was something that intrigued me. This led me to counseling and wanting to genuinely help people who were struggling by truly understanding their unique challenges and providing hope, support and strategies to make life feel a little easier. I know that my desire for wanting to see people grow and overcome personal challenges is the reason I was led to this profession.</image:caption>

<image:title>Jessica Cox - "My hope is that together we can discover your true inner strengths that will lead you to growth and harmony within yourself."</image:title>
<image:caption>What You Can Expect I personally believe that counseling is an educational experience where you have the ability to learn about yourself through reflection, self-awareness and growth. My goal is to provide a comfortable, safe and caring environment to help you feel strengthened and empowered through our time together. My hope is that counseling will bring a sense of increased confidence, purpose and peace. Coming from a Colombian/American background I like to incorporate a multicultural perspective into my approach. It's important to take into account all the factors that play a role in someone's experience of life. Taking a holistic approach to therapy allows me to incorporate every aspect of a person and help them to find a deeper understanding of themselves. I know from personal experience that happiness can seem out of reach sometimes but I would love to help guide you there if you’ll allow me.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Let Me Introduce Myself Hey there! I'm Tiffanie Reid, and I'm a practicum student currently working toward my M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (graduating May 2027). I'm passionate about working with teens and adults navigating things like ADHD, Autism, anxiety, and depression. I've spent most of my adult life in helping professions, and most recently ran a coaching practice where I worked with neurodivergent teens and adults on executive functioning skills. Now I'm taking my work deeper as I train to become a counselor who can offer affirming, individualized therapy. In my spare time I enjoy crafting, listening to or seeing music and generally goofing around with my teens and my husband. Out and about, you might see me making wonky hand built sculptures at a local pottery studio or taking improv classes - I love the process of creating imperfect things and enjoying them as they turn out rather than what I imagined them to be. I'm excited to bring the joy of creating art, crafts and humor into our sessions if that is an interest of yours as well!</image:caption>

<image:caption>My Journey To Becoming A Therapist I've wanted to be a counselor for decades, and I finally took the leap to go back to school last fall! I grew up in a family that didn't believe in therapy, but I went on my own for the first time in college (way back in the 90’s!). Since then, I've turned to therapy at different points in my life, really getting to know myself and working toward lifelong mental wellbeing. With kids of my own, therapy has been so valuable to our family. We've learned so much about self-acceptance, mutual respect, and honoring each person as their own expert. Through my coaching practice, I helped clients with organization, focus, planning and getting started on boring tasks. But what struck me most was how often clients came in carrying a lifetime of pressure to fit some version of "normal." That burden looks like self-doubt, anxiety, shame, depression, hyper-vigilance. I wanted to go deeper and offer therapy that affirms neurodivergence and helps people shed the weight of trying to fit into a world that wasn't designed for them.</image:caption>

<image:caption>What You Can Expect When we meet, you can expect a nonjudgmental, empathetic ear. I believe in meeting people right where they are, whether you're dealing with the weight of societal expectations, working through anxiety or depression, or just trying to figure out how to function in a way that feels true to you. Counseling can be tough work, but we'll almost always find something to laugh about along the way. I'll take a flexible approach based on what you actually need, and we'll work together to chart a path toward your goals. My aim is to help you let go of what's weighing you down, find tools that help and trust yourself to navigate this life. I'm committed to creating a comfortable, affirming space for clients of all socioeconomic, racial, and cultural backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ folks, and neurodivergent individuals. I’d be so honored to work with you!</image:caption>
